Gerald’s Iguana WebsiteArriving in North America from Jamaica in 1947 at the age of 13, Gerald A. Archambeau quickly found himself exposed to every segment of Canadian society. The first black Naval Sea Cadet in the Rosemount Division, Gerald also did work as a plumbing, steam fitting, and welding apprentice and as a bonded Western Union Messenger on Montreal’s version of Wall Street. His autobiography, A Struggle to Walk with Dignity: The True Story of a Jamaican-born Canadian, is available in its second edition through Blue Butterfly Books. Gerald is a respected lecturer and has written many articles over the years for the Toronto Star, the Hamilton Spectator, the Guelph Mercury, and The St. Catharines Standard. He credits his wife with inspiring him to write down the important tale that is his life story. |
Laurie’s Iguana WebsiteLaurie Channer is a Toronto writer who specializes in dark fiction from unusual perspectives. Her debut novel, Godblog, has been optioned for a feature film, and two of her stories have won a second prize and an honorable mention in the Toronto Star Short Story Contest. Her short fiction has also been published or reprinted in various anthologies in the company of such luminaries as Bram Stoker, Stephen Leacock, and Anton Chekhov, above all of whom she gets billed in the alphabetical author bios. |

. Shireen’s Iguana WebsiteShireen Jeejeebhoy is a Toronto-based author, blogger, and photographer and holds a BSc in psychology from the University of Toronto. After sustaining a traumatic brain injury, Ms. Jeejeebhoy finds her writing keeps her grounded; her photography takes her to realms of color and light. Ms. Jeejeebhoy’s work is an eclectic mix of novels, biography, short nonfiction, and poetry, and she is the author of the award-winning biography Lifeliner: The Judy Taylor Story.
